automatic gearbox and diesel engine?

Do anybody know: Can I put 2.4 DI engine on automatic C3 gearbox? I have MK2 automatic gearbox and pinto engine, and I want replace my engine, I want put diesel on my gearbox.

hmm not sure really maybe the torque convertor will be a problem. probably end up slower than it started unless its a turbo engine how big is your camper

probly the best way forward for this is to find a 2.5di and auto box and slot that in as a complete unit!

My gearbox is excellent, and I don't want replace it. What is appearance difference between C3 and C4 gearboxes? Do anybody have picture of C4?

the problem would be getting the parts for the c3 auto to take the di engine!
