Obsolete widscreens.

Postby baconsdozen » Wed Feb 18, 2009 12:19 pm

I remember a long while back someone asking about a screen for a gown van that was unobtainable.I think some ambulance screens are now obsolete too.
Also a while back I read an article about a guy called Antti Wihanto who made one off windsreens.Although based in Finland his firm exports all over the world and in the article I read he'd supplied from stock a screen for a 58 cadillac.
The web site is here http://www.sicurvetro.com/ There is a link to his e-mail address.I remember the article said he spoke English.

Thanks for the link baconsdozen.
I'm thinking that windscreen cover has got to be obligatory for my ambulance project as I can't even find a picture of a similar one
What happens if the insurance company can't locate one? Or is that for them to worry about

I hope it helps Wynnie.I'm afraid I can't help with the query about insurance.Insurance companies seem to work in a way only they understand.

Was it a practical classics article by any chance? Black caddy was one of the staffs cars and he had to get it ready in time for a wedding??

I would think that if one of the normal glass people cant get the screen the insurance will do everything they can to get out of the job :( I suspect they may get you to get one yourself. just a guess though

Yes,it might have been ,it seems to ring a bell.Over the years I've collected thousands of car books and magazines going back to the 1940's ,I often take one into the loo for a read (can't be bothered with all the doom and gloom in the papers)
