Dashboard colour?

Postby sleepy » Sat Mar 11, 2006 6:29 pm

Does anyone out there know the name of the colour of the metal part of the upper dashboard on the MK2 :?:
Not sure if it's called Kermit grey or is it just a gloss/satin black that has faded over the years.

Sorry mate, my fault! I don't know if the dash actually has an official colour. It's not really a primer, but it's the same in all of the Mks. We had a wiring fire that gutted the inside of one of the vans, and had to respray the dash. We used bumper and trim paint but it's a bit pale. Did the job though and it's very hard wearing.

it all depends on how fussy you are and what sort of job you want to do, if its just a tidy up then any colour will do , but if you want a decent looking job then you need the correct grey!
what i used to do was mix 2 tins of smoothwrite and get the grey that way! :)
