Having serious trouble finding parts

Postby Bevluvsrats » Tue May 19, 2009 2:08 pm

Hi all. My Dad is the proud owner/slave to a gorgeous 1973 transit autohome and we're a little concerned. Recently when needing different parts, we've found it more and more difficult to find them as our regular supplies are drying up. At the moment we're looking for a rear flexible brake pipe (ford part no. 2078), 10mm at each end, 19 inches long. Specifics aside, does anyone have a good reliable supplier that they regularly use, one that's reasonably priced and would post to Croydon? Normal consumables like flexible hoses, brake shoes, that sort of thing? We're regularly trying places like ebay too.

Thanks

Yours desperately.

In case anyone's interested, this is the Transit in question, and we're very proud of her.

Sounds like the one just by the Diff took my old one in to an ordinary parts factor & he found one virtualy the same a little bit longer but it did the job, not sure what it was off though (maybe Citreon)
I`m to old to lie under Transits

Thanks all, Dad ended up having to get one couriered to us from Sheffield for £25! A bit steep considering he bought one a couple of years ago for £9, but at least it's coming now. He's always in need of various bits for his baby, so no doubt i'll be back on here quite a bit.

Thanks everyone for your help.

The threads on the ends are pretty much standardised,a decent storeman at a factors should be able to sort out a substitute, for £25 they'd probably pop round and fit it!
