Transit Mk1 1977 engine/gearbox swap

hi for your van, overdrive gearbox would be the favourite option, if you can find one?? they are still about in the u.k. or you could go for the mt75 wich will bolt straight onto your 2.4 but you need to alter the floor and weld/modify the gearbox cross member, but you can use factory spec propshaft off same wheelbase van

also you could turn it up on the pump for more speed, is it bosch or cav minimec?? do the tappets on it also, this makes a big difference, 0.0013 inch clearance on all (cold engine)
