@£$%^&*X! HOT!

Postby fremsley » Sun Jun 07, 2009 5:40 pm

Hi All,

Got big time overheating again on my 2 litre V4. This seemed to have been cured for a bit last year with flushing etc. Now the gauge barely rises to cold and she is boiling over. I've replaced the thermostat, but to no avail. i checked the sender by heating it up and no registering at all. Could it be the water pump?

Cheers

simon ,can you tell me what thermostat you have used , this is realy IMPORTANT ,what happend to me was i bourt a new stat fitted it and had lots of over heating probplems ,i just couldnt work it out! i then fitted another stat and still the same
then i talked to another member bacondozen had he said did the stat have the little hole in it to bleed the system ,well i took it out no it didnt have it  i found a old stat with the hole and bingo it works perfect! 8)
it is very unlikely to be the waterpump!

Cheers Mark. I just had a look at the old one and no there is no hole - I don't think the new one had one either. Where should this be? A pic if you have one would help if pos, as i'm a bit technically challenged!

Would the sensor not be anything to cause problems as well?
