Diesel Vans Only

Postby Verkaufer » Tue Jun 16, 2009 7:04 am

Hi, i've downloaded the brochure of the Mk2. I've noticed it :

- Low vacuum lights
[not illustrated (diesel van only)

- Cold start
not illustrated (diesel van only)

That means that in the diesel vans (mine is 2.4 diesel) those light must not appear?

thanks.

The bits in bold mean that you won't find those warning lights on a Petrol engine van and that they are not shown in the picture.

You should have these warning lights fitted to your diesel Transit. I'm not 100% sure but I think they should light up when you switch the ignition on and then go out once the engine is running. No doubt someone can clarify.

Cold start light only used on diesel goes out after the heating finished and engine can be started. Low vacumn lights I think are diesel only two as pump has to run for a while before there is enough pressure for the brakes goes out when pressure built up, should really wait for it to go out before driving else brakes feel like they arent working. When they were modern it used to take about 30 seconds running before this went out.

low vac light is the far right bottom one on the fake wood bar under the dash..
if you want to test its working turn ignition on and pump the brake pedal a few times and it should light up.. then go out with a few seconds of engine starting up
