Need a V$ engine - 1973 transit camper

Hello all, I need a new engine urgently as last one cooked. Hard to find the v4 petrol 2000cc one and running out of time. Mechanic at the ready, does anyone have any ideas?

v4 engines are getting thin on the ground,the best way is to rebuild your own one then you know its all new!
by fitting a seconhand one its gona more than likely be on its last legs!
also be very carefull with the id of the engine it is very easy to find you have a 1.7 instead of a 2ltr they are identical to look at!

There are at least two whole vans and a corsair car on ebay as of now.Might be worth a try.
