Where is the chassis number stamped on the mk1?

Hi, apart from the two plates in the step, were is the chassis number stamped on the mk1?

Also till what year was the ignition key in the dashboard near the speedo? When did they start putting the ignition in the sterring column?

ignition on the steering colmn was after 70 as a option as geoff says front spring hanger but on many its unlikely to be there because of rust ishues
