yorks and the leak-off mod

my little yorkie is drawing air from somewhere and im at a bit of a loss..

is it necessary to do the leak-off mod on a york like you would on an early DI?

all help appreciated

(ps retarded the timing a touch today and its made it lovely and quiet without any noticable loss in power !)
