Master Cylinder & Servo for MK2 transit

Postby chrisandmark » Sun Apr 30, 2006 9:09 pm

Any ideas where I can get them from for a MK 2 transit, 2.5di diesel engine?

Made 50-odd phone calls to scrap yards and dealers over the weekend and have turned up a blank so far.

It's getting kinda desparate now as until this work is done I'm off the road and not working. I'm in Birmingham but definitely don't mind travelling for the parts, I didn't know they were going to be so hard to find.

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Need both cos they've both gone at the same time...

Just posted on the 'wanted' and am about to look through the sale threads.

Cheers.

The MK2 Master cylinder is definately still available as Fred got one a few weeks ago, there are two different types... One has a larger bore outlet on two of the pipes but you can get converters to reduce them to standard.

Yup, the brake master is still available, the one with the odd two brake unions are cheaper (almost half the price), and the unions themselves are next to nothing but changing the pipes/unions takes a bit longer and the more expensive type is a straight fit. It depends how much time and money you have. The Mk2 brake master won't fit the Mk3 servo, so if you go this route you have to change both. Personally I wouldn't go for 2nd hand brake parts if they don't come from a van you have run yourself, of from somebody yoiu know.
