Two Transits spotted

Postby MarkM » Mon May 08, 2006 7:27 pm

Ok so we can all spot Transits...go outside and count your own for a start but I saw two reasonably distinct ones this weekend.
1st one going south on the M1 Nottigham-ish area at approx 2am Two tone White and Green Smiley towing a Jaguar..both sign written up XJ Motorsports or might have been XJ Motorfactors.

2nd one a Purple High top camper Mk 1 seen in Southend Sunday afternoon...this one must be a forum member or at least known to another member.

On a side note I made a wrong turn coming out of Nottingham..was heading for the A46 but missed the turning somhow and ended up going towards the M1...worked out easier in the grand scheme of things...but point is I got some diesel as it would have been rude not to....94.6p a litre! and it was an Esso  cheapest I have locally is 96.9p. I only wish I had had my jerry cans in the back as I would have filled them up too.

I finks you wuz in Clifton then Mark  ( a bit chavvy you know up there).

The reason its so cheap is cos you are more likely to be pouring it onto the floor, take the cap off and turn your back to fill her up and thats all you're left with....your fuel cap and a puddle of fuel

Yes that's where I was...mind you most people in a set area know where the cheap fuel is...also as it was so late at night there wasn't anyone around...I nearly didn't pull in as I thought I was seeing the unleaded price, very pleased that a missed turn actually saved me money as the detour only added about 2 miles to the total journey distance, the rest of the area was 98-99p a litre so it was a huge difference...how the hell the service stations can justify 101.9 p a litre is beyond me as the tankers have to use the motorways/major A roads to get to the cheaper stations so the arguement of them (the services) being 'out of town' is just plain BS...cheaper land cheaper rents (if applicable) and easy travel links.

You think 101.9p is bad? you wana see what the prat just down the road from me is charging....104.9p for unleaded and 106.9p for DERV  , and he wonders why his forecourt is always empty  Only people who are absolutely desperate stop there, then they only put a fiver in
