West Sussex roundabout . . . wrong way!

Postby phototraveler » Thu Jul 16, 2015 4:54 pm

This is a news story in the Telegraph, whereby by many drivers are gong the wrong way around an island: Seehttp://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/motoringvideo/11743550/Is-this-Britains-most-dangerous-roundabout.html

One of the varmints looks like a Tranny, though it's a bit hard to tell . .

How odd, there must be a reason that people are doing it. Need to see the junction from above really.

It`s downhill heading south out of Turners Hill towards Haywards Heath. It means that you have to slow down to take the roundabout safely on the right side of the road. I have used this road many times and have never slowed as I know it`s there and am travelling at a low speed anyway. Have seen this happening though and it`s pretty scary when approaching from the other direction.
It`s a West Sussex thing. Any dodgy junction......................just stick a mushroom in the middle. It happens everywhere.

Its taken me a few minutes to work out which one it is... I use it quite often as well

But I can't see ANY reason why people are going around it the wrong way!

Ha, my ex girlfriend lives opposite there, saw many smashes because of that reason. It was (probably still is) a poorly lighted roundabout and in adverse weather could be quite miss leading to an unfamiliar driver. Also, a popular short cut for speeders...
