Probably ex an undertakers, they often use black unwritten vans for collection & delivery. ( but they don't usually have roof bars :D )

I have an undertaker as a private customer. She can't have a black van or have private ambulance on the side like they often have as she collects people from airports and RAF bases. Apparently it scares people to know there are dead people in an airport having just got off a plane.
Current Transit: Mk8 tourneo Sport with go faster stripes.

Long time sold: Mk5 LWB 190, 2.5di banana SHR, 3 seats, SLD, Twin rear doors (rusted bottoms), manual locking & windows.

I used to see a black one on the a120 near Colchester in the mornings. They did`nt look like funeral directors, looked like a builders van to me.
The mk6 does look good in black though.

Djswampy,
Your undertaker customer is winding you up. Corpses are not flown on passenger planes, only on cargo flights. Just for info, the airlines charge 150% the normal cargo rate to fly 'human remains' as they are called.
If they come in from a hot country they come in lead lined coffins to prevent the spread of disease and boy does that UP (get it ?) the cost of shipping them ! They are usually collected/delivered from/to the airline's cargo shed at night (in a black van) just for discretion.
About 60% of people die in their sleep, and are therefore 'collected' at night (these factors could explain why you don't see many black vans about in daylight hours!).
And finally NO I am not an undertaker, used to rally with one, and worked for a cargo airline. :)
Enjoy
