I'll be doing the passenger side wheelarch tomorrow. Maybe.

Most of the underside of mine takes after your photo yet the fail was certifiably not an immediate consequence of rust. Brake anomaly on the backs which has had each and every new drum, shoes, and chambers under a half year earlier

Took the old rds 6000 CD stereo out to troubleshoot speaker wiring. After a good ferret round and some checks with multimeter determined it was the speaker itself. Swapped out with spare and all OK :) Now considering a replacement head unit, but will see how MOT goes on Tuesday first. Gave van a good clean and off to Cosford airshow tomorrow.

Packed it for a trip to Norfolk. Turned the key to hear rup... rup.... rup..... clickclickclickclickclick.....

Swapped the starter motor... no joy.

Wouldn't start using the leisure battery as a booster either.

Put the battery on charge, was going after a 5 minute boost. Left it charging until the charger said full, then gave it a 300a load test for a few seconds.

Rup... rup....... clickclickclickclick.

Ordered new battery, this time an Exide EA722 Premium (096TE, 72A/hr, 720CCA). The Bosch S4008 that's in it only lasted 28 months, and the Varta E44 before about the same, so trying something different.

New battery fitted.

Say click-brum-yay as fast as you can. That's how fast it started.

Yay!

Went to take the van for a run to work Saturday, first off wouldn't start  after dumping fuel in the carb, started up and pissed fuel out the carb all over the inlet manifold
Fooking motors :(

All fixed now

Replaced the fan and fan motor in the heater of a 1987 van without removing the heater unit.
Haynes only describes replacing the fan motor with the heater unit removed (as far as I could gather).

Removed the front bumper to find out why it was loose. And what did I see?

Not a pretty sight! A new beam was instantly ordered from Transit Center.
