MT75 clutch arm

Postby Parcel » Mon Apr 26, 2021 1:29 pm

Hello
Does the later MK5 clutch release arm with the strange weight/rubber thing on the end fit earlier gearboxes with the simple pressed arms?
Sometimes the clutch won’t fully disengage on my 1990 SWB 2.5 Di.
It’s got the MT75 obviously and the auto adjusting pedal.
Now and again releasing the clutch pedal and pressing down again helps but not much.
I am thinking the release arm might be giving way? So looking for a new one
Only ones available are the later type
Usual trick of slipping clutch at standstill in 4th to free clutch plate does nothing.
Any thoughts please?

Yes the later arms fit - but they crack. The earlier ones don't - but can rattle.

Has the pivot point of the arm become dislodged?

Thanks Matt,
Looks like the pivot is correctly attached
Disengages okay when cold and gearbox oil thicker
Think plate must be tight/rusted on splines
Will try and get some lubricant in the and get some miles on as it has been standing for a while
If it’s not right after that might have to strip down and I’ll let you know if that arm is required then.
