1995 Transit power steering pump

Postby Ransettimies » Fri Oct 01, 2021 2:57 pm

I got 1995 2.5 DI Banana. Power steering pump leaks bad.

My car is LHD and pump has sticker " HBD-BA". Shops give coouple different options and ford own code is different at catalogue.

Is there many different types of power steering pumps?

Are you sure it's not just the plastic washer in the nut leaking?

What nut and washer, i mean where? It seems to leak at axle under pulley. Pipes wont leak. It also makes howling noise at low range rpm (not idle but city speeds) even there is fluid.

How did you know that number is right one?

That appears to be the correct part no for most variants.

There is also heavy duty version - but thats only on the heaviest of vehicles

Thank both of you

Some guy sells cheap HBD-CP. Is that different? Or is there many codes for same steering pump or is there allways major differences when ID is different?
