The one one the van started acting like a rev counter and then packed in.

Need to diagnose the problem over the weekend.
Could be wiring. Could be cluster .

Think its GPS Speedometer. Noc
And
Late mk5 early mk6 cluster from what I've been lead to believe Ned.

I had blood coming from every orifice after sustained motorway speeds in a mk5.

I'm going to poo sideways tomorrow.

Post a pic of your Speedo as I’ve got the old one from my mk6 with rev counter on it so if it’s the same it could be yours, the fuel gauge was altered so when it shows empty it had 1/4 of a tank if that makes sense, it was working perfectly when removed.

I took the smallest drill I have and some different shaped little grinding stones and managed to get all but one or two of the last little bits of weld ground down and then smothed some rough bits with filler, then primed it all and slapped some tetroseal over it, then made a start bolting all the suspension bits back on, got one wishbone part way in then realised I'd got those feckin boxy bits that bolt to the spring hangers on the wrong sides, so had to swap them over! tried to take some more pics but the battery was too low, hoping to get it back down on it's wheels tomorrow though! :D

Finally got back on the road after 15 days, it was tuesday morning just over two weeks ago that I jacked her up and started, during that time she's probably had a good six plus good days worth of work out of me, and I felt knackered after each session, but now its all done I'm glad that I did it and hopefully it'll be a good while before I have to get the welder out again. First test drive there was a knocking when I slowed and turned, oh bollox I thought what the feck is that so I double checked all the bolts under there, it was the o/s wheel nuts loose!
And I remembered to get some pics.

Put two new tyres on the front and put the old front ones on the back to replace two that were getting near their wear limit, and blow me I spoke to soon and find another crusty spot lurking on the chassis behind the offside rear wheels  so I got the hammer out and whacked all along and up and down the chassis and it's crossmembers, coz I thought if I've gotta get the welder out agin at the w/end I might as well see if there are any more bits that need doing and I've found another couple of bits and one that is okish and would probably be good for a year or more with some sanding and paint, but I may as well do that whilst I'm doing the others  no rest for the wicked! I'm getting too old for all this in the cold :(

Today I think I've reached the end of this round of welding  I ended up doing both sides of the triangle sections of the handbrake cossmember and the very back end sections of the chassis and a couple of bits behind and forward of the offside wheels, ran out of mig gas on the very last weld and was halfway worn down on my last grinding disc  I'm gonna go over the chassis with polishing discs and then prime it all :D
