Unleaded fuels help please

Postby muddycampers » Tue May 17, 2022 9:09 am

Hi all with 1989 ford transits
What is the issue with unleaded please
I have always bough normal unleaded ?95 Now it says E10 .... My garage recently put E5 in to bring it back to me
I have heard that we need to consider it's use .... My garage had said it was ok on E10
Could the fuel be th reason it is stalling at every junction since it's MOT and service
It hadn't been driven for 3 months prior except for in and out the garage each day as the welder had covid
Cheers

E10 has more ethenol in it (10% compaired to E5s 5%) it goes off quicker i know that !
ASFIK it can eat rubber fuel lines and give less power so less MPG ?
A customers boat runs an old pre Xflow engine and it runs OK but a bit lean, it it misses if you rev it too fast, this only started happening after E10 started being used :?
ethenol absorps water, 6 month in his boat tank and the E10 would even start the thing, i had to put fresh fuel in BUT a boat is the worst case scenario for water absorption
