LIFT PUMP brands for 1997 MK5 smiley

Just wondering what lift pumps for the 2.5 diesel are the most reliable . Is there a brand thats better than others?


Mines leaking at the side. its a little hole of the horizontal stalk just after you bolt it onto the engine. (yep just under the heat gasket isolator)

why its leaking there who knows.

This leaking lift pump was off a 320000km 1997 smiley with one type of diesel filter housing,

my current engine is off a 2.5 LDV and its diesel housing was different and so was the lift pump.

This post is exactly what is happening....leakage what a little vent/overflow hole on the lift pump.

it seems it is not a solved thing...appart from the obvious these pump have faulty parts in them
