Epic fuel pump leaking - Melbourne

Postby Contenok » Mon May 13, 2024 11:30 pm

Hi everyone!

I have a 1999 Ford Transit 2.5TD manual transmission and I'm located in Melbourne.

I have a problem with the epic fuel pump: everything is working fine but it's leaking from two places, so I either have to fix it or replace it with the Bosch VE.

Anyone in Melbourne or in the area who knows a mechanic willing to open the pump and fix it? I've tried with a few but they said they can't, so any advice on what to do would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

My mechanic said that it's leaking from the solenoid and from the back of the pump.
I've bought the van a few months ago and we noticed that years ago someone put glue on the solenoid, and it wasn't leaking anymore. It started leaking again a couple of weeks ago when I brought it to the mechanic to check something else.
I've found a mechanic who's willing to open the pump and fix what he can using the seal kit, but he told me it's impossible to find a spare part for the solenoid so we just have to put some glue again.

If its the solenoids at the back of the pump its no big deal to deal with. Basic tools and a few O rings.

If you look in the "how too" section there is a guide on ESOS plunger replacement - that covers it

Thank you both for your answers!

Yesterday the mechanic opened the pump, he did his best but he told me there's still one part that he can't fix because it's impossible to find a spare part.

He sent me the pictures of the problem.

Today I'm gonna call Matt and ask him if he can help me out.
