Next phase, new knowledge...

Postby Tragustauro » Tue Sep 24, 2024 9:53 pm

...Ok new knowledge..

Replaced the cam and crank shaft sensor.

As usually the truck starts with no problems.

Idling with no issues. The engine sounds great and healthy. 8-900 rpm.

With in approx 40 min the car just turns off. No drama. Just off. Like "click".

Restart and it starts like nothing. (apparently now I can start it up again right after the shutdown) Sounds great. 10 min and it turns off again.

Restart. And it starts again without any issue. Sounds great. The fan is working also at the right time.

More than 35 min idle, and nothing happens. It runs great. !?

I had to leave it so I turned it off while it was good.

My first thought about this issue, was something to do with gas/petrol.

Earlier, since driving and this was occurring, it felt like it was missing out of gas/petrol.

But I do not think this now, since what I saw today. It just turns of like a touch of a switch. No coughing or anything like that.

My next target is the mass airflow sensor....(MAF)
Well see.

Thank you all who have responded to me with ideas of what it could be.

All the best.

if it has one of those metal fuel filters fixed to the bulkhead or there abouts ..its got full old silt / rust particles and needs replacing as a complete unit .

what happens is the particles begin sticking to the filter element inside ..until it stops the fuel flow , then your vans engine stops ..they then fall away from the filter element..and the process starts all over.

at least that's what it sounds like to me you are describing - from the list of symptoms
