Turning fast coz I was using 24v to the starter, to give it the best chance to start its slower now its back on 12v in the truck.

I thought I'd better update this, I ended up digging out and getting my LDV turbo engine running and then removed the non revving engine and then fitted the turbo, had to change lots of bits, thermostat housing was cracked so had to fit my old one and then the coolant pipe connections were different, alternator connections different, fuel filter banjo's, air filter exhaust down pipe etc, anyway back on the road and been busy catching up with work so I forgot to

I can't believe my luck just lately, today the camshaft pulley decided it no longer wanted to be a part of the engine! I'd just caught up with missed work, life etc after the previous saga
The Mk7 I bought last time for a runabout has now run out of MOT, thankfully the weather is ok so I can use my 1982 Honda C90 but I'm losing the will to live

so it's snapped off the end of the camshaft, I don't know if I you can even find a turbo cam these days or whether I can be arsed to fix it, although it did pass the MOT a couple of weeks ago.

Your more than welcome to an engine I have if you want to collect from Gloucestershire

There are 2 issues... the sump needs replacing (engine fell of the hoist about 1ft up) and its massively overheating & pressurising the coolant - so probably a failed head gasket (but could be a crack somewhere?) I couldn't be bothered to investigate.

Could either be sorted (if that easier) or used for parts. Its a non turbo unit

Thanks mate but I have four engines here, well five with the turbo, so I've got plenty of engine spares.

I eventually managed to find a turbo camshaft in Germany, so I've taken the gearbox, clutch and flywheel off and removed the snapped camshaft and now I've just got to wait for the new one to arrive and then get it fitted.
