Camshaft fitment

Postby Chug » Mon Mar 24, 2025 10:48 am

I know that the N/A engine camshaft works with a turbo fitted, BUT does anyone know if a turbo engine would run with a standard N/A camshaft?
I can't seem to find a turbo camshaft but I have several N/A camshafts .

Yes it will run. It won't have as much poke, but it will run. Injection timing will have to be retarded compared with the TD cam (if you are using a N/A bosch pump, just pin it up and don't advance)

Cheers Matt, have you got a camshaft for a turbo?

I think I've found one in Germany, I've sent them a message to confirm.

So the turbo camshaft is different to the NA engine?.Will a NA engine run better with that camshaft

An NA engine will probably run worse. Becuase air is being forced in there is more valve overlap
