Oil Catchment Tank Question

Postby savi18 » Mon Apr 14, 2025 1:32 am

Does the mk5 2.5D none turbo need a oil catching tank, its a 1997 so getting quite old, mileage is 200,000 km, being non turbo thinking less pressure in the combustion process won't have as much blowback, if it is best to fit one, links or company to get one from please, I'm in NZ (ex Lancashire Lad) Cheers

I would steer well clear. They cause more trouble than they're worth as they increase pressure in crankcase causing oil leaks.
