Look at the above as there is a article on the vans from when they were first delivered.

Thanks Dwain - really interesting. I reckon the truck I saw would have been one of the class B's mentioned and pictured on the first page. I reckon 1988 was about right for the reg too - so it would have been about 12-14 years old when I saw it.

I remember the BBC guy who brought it told me they originally had loads all over the country but many had been scrapped and they were left with only a couple being kept going and shared across all regions due to cutbacks. I think he was mainly talking about the trucks - I don't remember Transits being mentioned.
2009 Renault Trafic Sport Crew Cab

Vans I have also owned:
1982 MK 2 SWB Transit
1992 Fiat Ducato
1993 MK 4 SWB Transit
2005 MK 6 SWB T280 Transit

Would be a shame for it to be scrapped. I know someone who was looking for one...
Lucas Laser 2000 & IDS
95 M Prototype/Mule DRW 100PS Highcube
95 N Hallmark (white)
96 P 150 TD 100PS LWB Hi-Top
96 P Autosleeper Duetto
2 x 2006 Mk7s

Not sure I've posted this in the right section so please feel free to move if incorrect. We have an ex East Midlands BBC recording MK3 transit van with petrol 2ltr pinto engine and 42,000 miles - full height coach built doors to the side and a partial camper conversion with full carpet conversion. We've had her for 2 years and she's got a full MOT. We can't find anything like it anywhere else so have no idea how to value it as we have to sell as twins are on the way! Any advice on where to sell and how to price it would be gratefully received! We've loved having her and sad to see her go and feel she 'may' have some value to enthusiasts or for continued conversion. Thank you in advance!

Almost exactly a year ago I saw an Ex-BBC Radio Norfolk Mk3 LWB 2.0L Pinto (1988 F-reg) for sale on the FB marketplace.
The seller was originally asking for £5000-7000, but given the condition and the fact its MOT was short, that was too much.
It has since dropped further to £3000 but with no active MOT since July 2024 - https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/it ... 577611960/

I've not seen another one since :o
