2L Pinto Running Rich?

Postby themountain » Sat May 03, 2025 7:21 pm

Happy Bank Holiday!!

I thought I would do a bit of housekeeping on the old girl and replaced the plugs but there seems a large amount of residue on them - I imagine it is running a bit rich?

I am not sure when they were last changed, probably 4 years ago but less than 2000 miles.

I'm running a standard carb but that's actually pretty good as I stripped it over the winter and rebuilt. I could upgrade to a Weber but trying to save some money at the moment so a bit loathe too.

It's an auto choke which I wonder if that could be the issue? At start it pops out a fair bit of soot from the exhaust, but if you turn it off and back on then it's completely fine.

Any help appreciated.
