I'm new to this forum. I own two Transits, mk3 and mk4. The newer one is a 2.5td minibus, model year 1994.
I've had a minibus mk4 for two years and I've probably had the same problem all along. I noticed it better last winter while driving to work. When the engine is cold, the car accelerates and drives poorly. The top speed is 80 km/h. But after driving 20-30 kilometers, there was a jerk and acceleration and driving became normal. In the summer, faster, maybe driving 2-3 kilometers is enough.
The car had an electric Lucas Epic injection pump, which has been replaced with a mechanical Bosch pump. The work was done at a Diesel and auto electrical repair shop. The vacuum hoses of the turbo's charge pipe vacuum gauge and the egr valve were blocked. I've opened them, but the problem is the same. Their vacuum diaphragms are intact. I've replaced the new turbo and the new one has been factory repaired. The old one wasn't very dirty and in my opinion was also intact. I've cleaned the EGR valve and it wasn't very dirty either.
Once the car started shaking while driving and I couldn't press the gas. I was able to drive it home at idle. Then I removed the EGR valve, cleaned it and the problem went away. (Even though it had been disabled?) The EGR valve comes with a vacuum hose and an electrical plug.
I've replaced the MAP sensor. The Bosch injection pump's idle solenoid is also new. Now I've ordered the MAF sensor and I'm waiting for it. Can you suggest anything else that I haven't understood yet? I don't understand much about this technology, but I can replace spare parts. Thanks!
