Motor won't rev after timing belt break

Hey
Timing belt broke on the motorway last week, when I came back with a new belt, found that pushrods were bent so we got some "new" ones out of a similar transit engine, put all the timing pegs back in, new cylinder head gasket (but kept the same cylinder head, it seemed ok) checked the valve clearance but it won't rev....diesel is ok at each injector, timing is correct, pegs fit perfectly after a few tours of the engine by hand. Any ideas ?? I've got an other cylinder head but can I reuse gasket ( I'm 600km from home, and don't want to come back a third time ..) thanks!!

Why change the head gasket?
Unless you mean the rocker box gasket.

You did get the timing pins in the correct holes didn't you.

Non revving would imply a fuel issue if the motor is starting and idililg.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner. I pinned the flywheel at 180°, took me some time to figure it out. I changed the head gasket because I took off the head to be sure valves and cylinder head weren't damaged.
Engine started ok, I managed to come home, speed is ok ,but I have a wee bit of smoke coming out of the oil filler, maybe valve gasket leak... anyway thanks for your help !!
