If its "close" then a jump from power to over-run could well be whats throwing it out

It was opened up again to check the cambelt timing and all was spot on. (pegs in holes etc). So that's a second garage that has checked it.
Is there any timing adjustment within the Lucas EPIC pump itself?
It's just so strange that it runs and starts so well except from hot.

I don't quite understand what you mean - If its "close" ?

Thanks for your comments

My van stills nuns and drives very smooth with no loss of power but ...
I've never got to the bottom of my red light coming on when the revs go below 1000rpm and staying on for the rest of the journey.
My Tesco delivery man today turned out to be a 'transit' fan and owner.
He mentioned a fuel pressure switch on the fuel rail that might be faulty.
Does anyone agree?
And is it a simple job?

The NOCO GBX75 BOOSTER that I now always have with me has never failed to start it, so I never need to worry about getting 'stuck' on a garage forecourt.

It's just strange how it is so sluggish to turn over and fail to start if I try to restart it shortly after the red warning light has been on. So the booster fixes that problem.
But if it is a little time (5-10 minutes) after I have turned the engine off it will re-start OK.
Strange!
