pesonally i would never use them choc blocks on my own van but i gotta love em they're reponsible for about 7 - 10% of my trade from when they go wrong.

Thats cos people dont use the right ones for the job most of the time! Then they dont bother insulating them from the damp and or earth points.

Just to throw a curved ball! These are what I use:




You just push both wires into the solder in the middle (making sure the wires are intermeshed) and heat up with a hot air gun which joins the wires and heat shrinks the insulation. Very neat!

As normal, always add extra heat shrink (overkill is my middle name!!!!)

I use some similar ones that you crimp first then you heat and they solder and shrink.

I like to use the type that you crimp both wires into then heat shrink. Heat shrink butt splice I think they're called. I've never had a problem with them even when I did use the wrong size!

we will soon see if there crap or not wont we so far still working great and thats with my dad using it and he has the heater on full blast
