anyone changed wheel bearing , is it a big job??

Take the wheel off, take off the brake calpier, remove the split pin and pull the hub off complete with the disk, seperate the disk from the hub on the bench and press/hammer/air chisel the bearings out..

and in true haynes manual style "refitting is a reversal of removal"

same as above but you dont need to take off the disc from the hub bearing falls out, then just knock the track out with a chisel

don't forget the hub nut is a lefthanded thread on the N/S

As everyone else said + get some heat on the hub, makes it easer to smack the bearing out. And when your ready to put the new bearing in a tip a mechanic gave me once was to put the complete new bearing in the freezer for 20 mins before dropping it into the warm hub. Works a treat...... cold bearing = smaller dia. warm hub = larger dia = bearing virtually drops in!
