tight northerners !!
You only need two tools in life: WD-40 and Duct Tape. If it doesn't move and it should, use WD-40. If it moves and shouldn't, use the duct tape.

So the 16v will fit the same as an 8v will then Luke?

Quick question if its one of my valves that are bent could i take the top head off my 2ltr 16v Scorpio and fit it to my 2ltr 8v Transit??
Cheers Mike

aparrantly so :!: - i'd imagaine its not as strait forward as that tho some pulleys on the block etc. and almost certanly some wiring to be done!! :?
my origanal plan was to buy a scrap 2.0 16v scorpio and use the full engine and wiring loom!!! :D

I would use the full engine but the crank is knackered on the Scorpio one..and for what it'd cost to fix i could buy another car to get a donor from

Either that or just nick a valve out of it..or whatever it is thats tapping

i'd reckon the easyest way would be to fit the dohc 8v crank to the 16v .................. be a bit of a bummer if it was different tho :?

personally i'd go for that job over a head swap  :D

Never thought about it that way round :)

May have to think about that when ive had a good look...But i would of though a head swap would of been the easier option IMO :?

Right well done the wooden spoon bit..my engine knowledge isnt great so here goes  Its coming from the bottom end of the engine(it looks like a sports cap but upside down) it gets louder when i listen to the bit that cups down .. I did think it was at the top but after doing that test i was wrong as usual .. Theres a bit of oil around there(doesnt seem to be leaking though) cant hear that bad anywhere else so i presume thats where its coming from..Now would be why im losing power every now an then and when i put my foot down it seems like its missing would this be why??

The stick trick is a bit heath robinson but it can point you in the right direction......if you know how the different parts sound in the first place. Some parts sound horriffic to listen to but is a perfectly normal sound for that part. So a little knowledge of the internal parts is a big help ie listen to a water pump whirring round, if its making a grinding or knocking sound then you know its that. Good luck and keep us posted :)
