MK3 2 ltr keeps dying

Head gasket was done about 500 miles ago.

however i lent on the carb to pick something up and nearly fell over when the carb spun around turns out a bolt had come loose in the conversind plate so it is carb off time

Pretty major airleak then . . good luck in your quest to find an alternative suitable carb..... be sure to have it set up correctly . . . nothing worse than burning money needlessly

is there any way of tesiting the ignition module or is it a case of replace it and see

A few motor factors used to be able to test them when the sierra was prevalent but I doubt any would have the testers now..

If your local scrappie has any 2.0 Sierras in that would be the best way to find out, they are on the N/S inner wing.

They are slightly different but have the same plug and will tell you if thats your problem.

Got it runnin OK today it was to lean with the hole unblocked and would only run on choke and too rich with it blocked. it is now running with a bolt fitten instead of the valve

Its running a bit rich but at least it runns means i got to go to work again tomorrow
