Replacing single seat passenger seat with bench seat.

Postby cream69 » Fri Oct 09, 2009 8:28 am

Bought a ex BT,1999, 120 SWB transit about 3 years ago.
Passenger seat is single seat with a storage box in the middle.
Is replacing it with a bench seat straight forward?
Does this also effect my insurance as well?
Many thanks.

You will need to tell the insurance company though.

Attempted today using a benchseat from a r reg 1997 transit,
unfortunely the holes or mounts on the floor were too wide.
Do not want to drill new hoes
Would any of the newer transit van benchseat fit?

The one you have will fit, the holes are there for it.

update:
Attempted to replace the single seater with my previous L reg bench seat and we
simply cannot find the holes for it. The present holes are an inch or two narrower.
We've got no option but to drill new holes :(
