2.5 di engine knock second opinion please

Postby baxta » Mon Dec 07, 2009 4:59 am

i recently replaced my 2.5 di engine in my 96 flareside with another i bought from a mate who seid it was a good engine just lacked a bit of power ,having seen it running in the old van and it was fine i bought it ,after puting it in i went for a drive it was fine at first but after about 10 miles it started to knock loudly, after it cooled down i drove home the same thing happend fine at first then once warm knocked again,
i guess its the bottom end but just wonderd wether im missing somthing befor i rip it out and start again , allso i did read in one of the topics somthing about oiled inlet can nacker the injectors causing a knock anyone know of this? as the engine did fall of the crane (onto my mates head) at one point and oil did leak out the inlet manifold

you need to see if the oil pressure is ok when its hot..
