broken gear stick

only the other month was i laughing at someone snapping there gearstick... now i snapped mine last night!!!!! was not impressed at all stuck in the snow, had all gears other then reverse.

anyway got home and a little play about come up with idea, 2 by 1 box 3mm thick, 2 bolt holes and then a cut in oneside to have a slight angle to get the top gears and i'm sorted, the box sits over the gear selecter perfect.

the only problem is the box is a bit cold in the mornings and you can fill the draft coming up through the gearbox housing / tunnel etc.

will take picture later of my new gearstick!!!!

question, are these cheap?
