whats that pump behind the alternator??

Postby dcurzon » Tue Jun 06, 2006 4:13 pm

i fitted a new alternator t'other week, and i'm wondering what that pump is and what it does??

2.5d swb 1995 model

also noticed that the seal between my old alt, and the pump had split. Van also happened to be dripping oil, wodering if this seal was likely to have been the culprit??

If the vacuum pump goes or the alternator seizes, or you loose your fan belt, the brakes go with it, leaving you to stop your van with the power of you right foot.
