Clutch Ratchet & Release Bearing

Hi all, just bought a 94 crewcab tipper, its fair to say she needs quite a bit of work cosmetically but generally sound. The 2 main issues I have noticed is the clutch ratchet keeps slipping and it also has a noisey clutch release bearing. How difficult are they to replace? (my mechanical knowledge is limited to changing a battery and a wheel) Or is there anyone close to Blackpool on here that could do it for me?

If the ratchet is constantly slipping, a new one is best. Don't know if you can get them without buying a complete cable though

Mine has a noisy release bearing/rattly clutch basket too. It's not caused me any problems so far so I've not been inclined to do anything about it as yet. I do plan to re-build the bottom end soon to sort out a few minor oil leaks so I'll be doing the clutch and associated parts then anyway.

Hi, yeah it's slipping fairly bad, I have seen the ratchets on ebay for less than £5 posted. I know the release bearing isnt really a major problem but I like to know everything is right.

The ratchet is part of the pedal not the cable.

When this happens most people replace the pedal with a manual one, this will require a new cable as well though.

Thanks, where is the best place to get a manual one? It's not a major problem, I only really notice it going down from 3rd to 2nd gear and if I double clutch it it rarely happens
