Changing the cam belt

need to change my cam belt, found the very informative post in the HOW TO section thinking of doing it myself. Could anyone tell me how long it would take me to do it or roughly how much i could expect to pay my local garage to do it. many thanks

If you have never done it before allow a day (although it may only take a few hours)

Probably about £200 at a garage

First time I did it, took 3-4 hours, thats with the radiator off and a new water pump, expect the usual i.e. bolts done up by gorillas etc. but it is an easy job. I did it using the haynes manual (it was before I found this forum..). Just make sure you got everything you need first . If youre tall like me, put the front end up on ramps, saves yer back

Book time is 2 hours but can be done in 45 minutes. Assuming it's a 2.5di as you don't say.
