Any advice appreciated 1998 transit, 30,000 on clock

Hello All, I am going to look a a 1998 transit motorhome conversion tommorow and would be very gratefull if you culd post any common faults or area's of wear I should look out for. It has 30,000 miles on clock and looks tidy at a glance. Many Thanks Rob.

At that age it should have had 2 cambelts (50,000 or 5 years) if it hasn't budget for a new one ('bout £200 at a garage or £70 if you do it yourself)

Given that its 12 years old and not been used much inspect the rubber bits carefully.

The worst problem is rust! Check for it everywhere if it hasn't got any make sure you waxoyl it almost as soon as you get it. Common points are the front cross member, the chassis rails and the top corners of the windscreen (if its a converted van the rear X member too)

If its a turbo the engine management light should go out as soon as the engine starts, if it goes out 5 second later it has a minor fault logged - but minor faults dont escalate it just means its not running at quite its best
