Just a quick thing, going up hills it seems to me like not enough diesel getting in it drops power but then picks up again.
been reading about etc and i'm guessing I should be doing this?

Torque sleeve feels like the van has a turbo, ie nothing until you hit about 3000 rpm and then it comes to life
Has your van had the leak off mod done? Which injector has the blanking nipple on it?

With my Mk5 (of fond memory), slowing down up hills was an endearing feature, not a fault.

When did you last change the fuel & air filter? Any smoke? Last major service (cambelt etc)? If all good, try turning the midrange up on the pump, worked a treat on mine for the hills - viewtopic.php?f=18&t=3968&p=27790&hilit=egr#p27790
