Fuel economy

Hi guys, ive just covered 191 miles from the northwest to somerset and used £27 of diesel, my smiley minibus(2.5 76ps) had 2 adults and six kids
and obviously luggage, is this good, bad or average fuel economy? I mainly did about 60 mph.......thanks mark!

Assuming that you were buying diesel at 114.9p/l £27 equates too 23.5L

Therefore you would have been doing 37MPG which is pretty good. But only you know how accurately you put the fuel in

I filled the tank right to the top, even the filler pipe was full,and the diesel where i live is 111.9.......

Sounds too good to be true. Pumps can vary up to 10 litres depending on angle, bubbles, etc... You need to do about 10 tanks to the top to get a real idea of mpg. 60mph helps though (probably more like 50/55 on the sat nav) so could be right.

I used to average about 36 on my 190 which was normally lightly loaded, generally sticking in the 60-65 mph range but occasionally up to 75

Just worked it out based on the 111.9p, comes to just under 35mpg.

Not bad at all.

I've recently discovered an increase in Pinky's mpg. Gone up from an average of 25mpg to around 34mpg

So far, I've given her a full major service, except cambelt as yet. I keep my tyres at 48psi front and 52psi rear (unladen). I've turned the mid range fuelling up by 1.75 turns (Bosch pump), allowing extra power so I don't have to thrash the nuts off her. I've done the EGR and leak off mods. Flushed and re-filled the gearbox. I also use about 250ml of 2-Stroke oil in every tank full of diesel. She'll cruise at 65-70mph on the motorway with me only just touching the throttle now whereas before I was pinning it to the floor nearly everywhere to get a response.

um thats a though! ive never done my gearbox oil or diff? spose the oil in there gets thick and causes drag? mines a high cube 6 stud camper . what presure would u recomend front and back? do u think the egr mod made a difrence to her mpg? any thoughts on the above? on a moterway run sat at 60/65mph im getting 30ish round town bout 26ish how dose that sound?
