The dreaded MOT

Postby Peloquin » Fri Feb 26, 2010 6:25 pm

Bugger. It failed.
Mk3 LWB Hi roof.
It failed on welding, welding and more welding. Oh and a track rod end.

I took it to a garage I use a bit and said "Cash of course, dont care when it's done so long as it gets back within 10 days for the free re-test".
They said they'd do it for me "between jobs" so it's cheaper (used same place for 23 years now so get a decent deal) and they said best they can do is £250 all in.
Just being made redundant I was hoping for a cheap pass but not to be.

That's one of the things that I moan about. I have a small gas-less mig and something like the Clarke one but I have no-where to work. If I do it in the street the police get called and it isn't worth the aggro. I did have a go with the gas-less last year on the sill but it just blew right threw. Needed a gas one really. I'm not a particularly good welder but looks like I'm gonna have to make an effort to learn and build a workshop up my mates field. We've been on about it for ages but not got round to it.
