mk5 smiley step replacement??

hiya guys, has anyone on the forum ever replaced the whole step on either side of a mk5 smiley? cant find any info on the search? ideally if anyone has some pics of the job or knows a thread i can look at , i just want to know what im letting myself in for!! any info appreciated, cheers gaz
