cheeky cross-post (i'm depserate!)

Postby zamielsrose » Tue Mar 02, 2010 2:36 am

i do feel a bit guilty that my first ever proper post is a begging letter, but here goes!

i got a trannie to convert into a camper, (1995 swb), sold a lovely reliable peugeot 307 so i could go home to visit my aging relatives in the winter months. being a daft blonde, i trusted the bloke who sold me the van. he seemed nice.

six months down the road, i have a van that's blossoming rust faster than the human eye can keep track of, and today...

THE PROP SHAFT FELL OFF!!!! aaargh!!!

anyone know where i can get hold of a second-hand one? super cheap, for preference! or am i looking at a metal shed taking up space in the road outside my house now?

I've got one in the shed. But there should be plenty about and very easy fix. What model year and wheelbase is it? Also, when your prop fell off, did you catapult the van like they were trying to disprove on mythbusters?
My Mk5 was biodegradable and disintegrated with time.
Ford. Committed to the Environment

Finally entered the 21st Century and bought a MK7. Oh Dear.

my local know-it-all told me i had been very lucky because a prop shaft can catapult you right over, and i just pictured jamie and adam looking all sad when they tried it.

i'm in lovely liverpool, by the way. not a born scouser, but i have the zealotry of a convert, so no rude comments please!

Can you explain that in English please?

About your prop do a search for local Ford breakers and scrap yards near your area it should be a fairly easy fix if there is not to much damage.
