idle control screw

Postby Matthew 'The Stig' » Tue Mar 02, 2010 11:41 pm

Me and a Friend are currently working on a mk 5 'smiley' transit with a 2.5, the idle at the moment is a little bit low and lumpy but as soon as you just bring the revs up a little bit its all fine so we wanted to raise the idle, we have looked through the hanes manuel and compared pictures and cant find the idle control screw, was hoping someone could help shed some light :)

Ford Transit 120 TDI EPIC Automatic. 0-60 in a leisurely and smooth 12.7 seconds and 1/4 mile in 19.1 seconds. Now where's all these faster? manual Di s?

If it's a N/A with Bosch pump :?:
N/A = normally aspirated (Non Turbo  )

Looking from the front, the adjuster is on the left hand side of the pump. it is adjusted from the back of the pump under a tamper proof cap (if still in situ). undo locknut turn clockwise slightly to increase revs.
For a quick bodge fix you can tighten the cable adjuster where it fixes to the timing belt case
