Lost all power on mk5 smiley!

Postby Russ85 » Wed Mar 03, 2010 10:22 am

Hi all,

I was pulling out dash facia to get to the blower motor last night (engine running while I was doing this), and something on the radio shorted out.
The engine cut out, and I now have no electrics other than hazards and horn. Turn the ignition on, no dash lights, nothing.
What could I have blown here? I there a main fuse somewhere? The 3 square 50A fuses next to the battery look fine.

Cheers for any help - I'm pretty new to the transit world!

There is a connector for the ignition switch behind the lower part of the steering column shroud. You may have pulled this out moving the dash. Or possibly the switch may have pulled off the back of the steering lock.
