trying to trace a serious engine oil leak on our 1997 P reg Di. its not the sump or the rocker or a loose filter.
lots of fresh oil is around, behind and under a component that I havent been able to indentify in the haynes manual and i need someone to help me out. oil all over the front crossmember etc.
As you open the bonnet its a small component (looks similar to a fuel pressure reg) located on the right hand side at the farthest end of the exhaust manifold, just below it. the part has two unions on the back facinf rearwards and the 2 pipes lead off towards the rear (or maybe they swing around the back of the engine??) it is held to the engine block by 2 bolts and the mating surface does seem to be where weve got our leak.
what is it so we can then go get a new gasket?
