Postby zamielsrose » Sun Mar 07, 2010 1:12 am

ok i hope picture posting works the same here as it does on the other forum i go to....

my prop shaft fell off. well, one end did! she went KLUNK!!!! it's a ford transit (duuuuuuuuuuuuuh!) 1995 SWB, and here's what the nice AA man handed me.

so when i phone round scrap yards, what am i asking for? two thingie or three thingie? whole prop shaft or just a bit?

and just because i love her (even if she's on her last legs) here's a piccie of the rest of her -

so to recap, in order not to sound blonde and girly, what am i telling scrap merchants i'm after? and don't worry - i AM blonde and girly, so i won't be trying to fit it myself!!!!

I would just tell the scrapyard that it's a SWB, that way you should get the right prop :)

her rust had been covered up by a respray when i bought her - she now has a couple of pretty little patches of orange, like freckles, on her nose. she was a mobile library in london, so she's been pretty well looked-after i think. i can't take any credit for her really!

Blimey, did that break off at the prop bearing
Yes, short wheel base (2 piece) the whole thing will be easier...

Nice van by the way 8)

yup easiest will be a complete propshaft from a swb (95-00) it will be a 2 piece.

The earlier ones have different center bearings
